Damn Yankees

Though I am a Cardinals fan by nature, I am also a Yankees fan (second-generation, on my father's side). We got very good tickets in July and spent a hot afternoon watching the Bronx Bombers give it away to Tampa. Despite the loss, it was a terrific way to spend a summer day drinking an icy coke, eating a hot sausage, sketching, and listening to my daughter chant, "Let's go, Yankees, let's go!"

Hi Christine,
I hope you remember me, Lisa. I commented on one of your posts a while ago and then you commented on my post with the Nintendo purse :)
Anyway, just wanted you to know that even though I haven't been commenting, I still read your blog :)
BTW- I'm glad you like baseball and these sketches are awesome, but I must say that even though I'm a New Yorker, I'm a true Mets fan :)
Oh, and try not to read the previous post about the Yankees on my blog if you're a real fan. You seem like a cool person and I don't want to offend you but only the truth comes out of my mouth, hehe.
Hi Lisa,
Thanks so much for following my blog and for being my #1 (and only) commenter! You are awesome.
I do like baseball, though much more casually now than when I was a kid. Which, I hate to say, I consider the Mets my mortal enemies because of the 1980s rivalry of my youth.
I will say that I've definitely lightened up since then having moved to NYC ten years ago and getting to see Mike Piazza play. BUT, that's about all I can do. I'm sure you understand. :P
